  2. Hi Louise,

What a bird!!! I'd never heard of him but he looks, what's the best word, "strange" I think. It is good that you put the English translation of his name, that makes sense. Well, he can't help I think he's ugly but he sure impressed me.
And the cows and their little ones are looking really innocent. You were at a nice and peaceful place.

    1. Thank you Marianne. I've just added some more informations about this bird. You are right, it is not very nice but it is very impressive! It's a kind of vulture and they are not usually beautiful... :)

I was happy to take some pictures of it. We see them often but rarely on the ground.

  5. Thank you Coby. Although the pictures I took are note perfect (too far), I am happy with them because it doesn't happen often that these birds come as near.

    1. Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for your comments. This bird is not a turkey, it's a vulture (a Turkey Vulture). It can eat a dead turkey if there is one... :)

      Have a nice evening,
      Louise

that you have these vultures fly there. Here in the Netherlands see these birds, but they are beautiful to see. You also have a nice little post shooting.

  11. Though Turkey Vultures are not the most attractive bird, they really are quite fascinating. We see them circling quite often above our country acreage. Your photographs are wonderful! How fortunate you were to be able to get such great close-ups. I'm so glad the sweet little calf survived.
